EDUCATION 2020 provides added security
EDUCATION 2020 is leading the way with added security and
authentication into the online virtual learning environment.
With Secure Station, a propietary developed tool, school
districts have the added security of end-user usage and a controlled
environment for monitoring and securing access to the virtual
classroom network.
Secure Station provides a school district the capability to
allow or disallow access to the Education 2020 Virtual Classroom
at the end-user level. The security allows a school to only allow
access from a computer lab or other monitored computer systems
versus computers from a library or other locations. If access
is requested from a home, library, media center or elsewhere,
Secure Station allows districts to grant entry into the system.
This is accomplished by allowing access to stations that have
been authenticated by an administrator.
How Secure Station works
By creating a "list" (Secure Station White List)
of allowable computers that have been authenticated by an administrator
user, Secure Station obtains unique identifiers regarding the
computer attempting to log in as well as details about the user. Secure
Station then authenticates the computer based on the whitelist
using details unique to the computer attempting to log into the Virtual Classroom
to allow students access.
Students Logging into a Secure Station
network
When a student attempts to log into a computer where Secure
Station is enabled for the district, the following screen will
appear loading the java applet to run Secure Station.
Once Secure Station is loaded, the EDUCATION 2020 Security
Management System will load requesting authentication for the
computer being used to log into the EDUCATION 2020 Virtual Classroom.
Secure Station will validate the computer workstation
and continue the student login process allowing the student to
enter into the EDUCATION 2020 Virtual Classroom.
Administrator Computer Authentication
To authenticate the computer that is attempting to log in,
the District/School Administrator can enter in their login and
password and immediately authenticate the computer. Access from
an unauthenticated computer will not be allowed until such time
as an Administrator grants access either via Administrator Username
and Password or granting access from the Web Administrator.
